artscape 2010

today i trekked into the city to explore artscape. there were so many different sorts of jewelry, photos, paintings, and clothing to look at. it's really incredible how creative and talented some people when it comes to the visual arts. even though it is an arts festival, there were some tents that had possibly the best non-artsy free samples ever. my favorite of these tents was the kashi tent. they were giving out miniature bowls of cereal! it was great. the only downside to the day was that it was majorly H-O-T outside. as a result of this, i was immensely pleased with my choice of loose crop top as i probably wouldn't have survived without it.

random thoughts for wednesday

i started reading this yesterday and literally couldn't put it down. i stayed up to some ridiculous hour last night reading it and finished it today when i finally had the chance. it was the perfect light summer read and was highly entertaining. my friend jenny let me borrow it and i'm so glad she did! the only thing about it i regret is reading it so quickly- whoops!

i absolutely love love love chanel's fall '10 couture. the detail and patterns and colors are so gorgeous and rich. i can't stop looking at the photos. these two dresses outfits were my favorite. the deep navy blue paired with golds and cardinal reds is just stunning.

these rompers are so chic! i feel like a lot of rompers look like pajamas or are very unflattering, but these two definitely don't! i'm still in the search for the perfect one. it's out there, i know it!

here is what i wore today. yes, it was not the most exciting outfit i have ever worn, but it was quite the perfect outfit for going on a shopping trip and attending a dinner party. my favorite part of the outfit was my necklace (detail seen below). i got this necklace in new mexico when i was a wee little 9 year old. just yesterday i was inspired to start wearing it again. unfortunately, thanks to its age, its a tad bit worse for wear and over the years lost an arm. it may be verging on creepy without an arm, but it certainly is fun to wear.

while perusing the web today in search of an etched metal cuff bracelet, i came across these rock n roll- princess cuffs by dannijo. while they are well out of my price range and look as if they would snap my wrists in half, i think that they would look pretty awesome with some jeans and a plain white tee.

fourth festivities

i hope everyone had an excellent fourth of july. this one was definitely one of my favorites! my friends and i celebrated on my friends' sailboat. we boated around the harbor and ate hotdogs and her mom's signature spring rolls and sticky/sweet rice. then we watched the fire works that were set off from a huge barge in the middle of the harbor water. even though the water was absolutely disgusting- definitely not swimmable- the sights and sunset were gorgeous.
