while perusing the internet today during a break from my dreadful lab report, i came across ALL and i really mean ALL of my russian kitchenware and vocabulary needs! tumblers, a bad word dictionary, measuring cups and even a tea set! i couldn't have been more excited to find these adorable matryoshka items and inappropriate dictionary. they are so perfect for my apartment. i just have to convince my roomie Cayla that they are in fact the some of the coolest things one can buy for an apartment!
I also found space icecream, which is one of my favorites ever, and a 3D writing pad. I know, I know, i'm a huge nerd, but its ok because space ice cream is delicious and a 3D writing pad just sounds like hours upon hours of multi dimensional entertainment.
I don't understand at all how this outfit works, but even so, I think its pretty kicker. I mean, over the knee socks, pumps, mini and cropped tank- what's not to like?
Aren't these steve madden nude pumps just gorgeous?! I tried them on the other day and fell hard. I must get my hands on a pair.
My friend Veronica had quite an excellent post yesterday about the outfits she wore on her recent trip to disney. I think her style is so cute and fresh. Visit her blog!
So its pretty obvious that my blog looks just a tad bit different than before. I had the wonderful privilege of having Joy Kelley of How Joyful revamp my blog. Joy has an absolutely adorable blog and etsy shop that I think everyone needs to take a look at! I am terribly excited and grateful to have this new layout- thanks Joy!
On another note, this past weekend, one of my very good friends turned 20. She's the first one of us to move on from her teenage years and its put me in quite the state of shock. I really don't want to grow up so quickly!
Here's a pic of the group that got together to celebrate. Not surprisingly, I'm the one in the center making a ridiculous face. I'm wearing an american apparel tank, a victoria's secret bathing suit top (used as a bandeau) and free people shorts (they're my sisters- she would kill me if i didn't say they were hers). It was a perfect oufit for a summer night by the pool!
This past Sunday, me and my friend Julianne decided to go on a photography adventure in Hampden. When we arrived at our destination, we were surrounded by women, children and even men wearing beehive wigs, bright colors, crazy patterns, cat eye glasses and boas. Apparently it was HONFEST!
We walked down 36th street while taking pictures of people in ridiculously crazy costumes and exploring booths filled with vintage clothes, baltimore art and plain old junk. It was great.
People were surprisingly willing to pose for us when we asked them if we could take their pictures. Everyone was very obliging, especially while we played around with our camera settings. But I guess they were dressed to impress, so it wasn't a problem!
Only at honfest would they have a stand that sells sequined underwear with insane patterns and furry hand made hula hoops. Not gonna lie, I kind of wanted a hula hoop.... and a pair of those panties.
For those who really wanted to go all out had the chance to get their hair styled into an actual beehive. It was really fun to watch and the outcomes were pretty amazing.
So that I am not completely clueless when I have to cook for myself (and my roomie, Cayla) next year, I have decided to learn how to cook this summer. Today, I got my dad to teach me how to bbq chicken on the grill, which I figure is an easy, fun and tasty thing to make at school.
I used the Dinosaur Barbecue original sauce, which I was so excited to find at Wegmans today. This sauce is made in Syracuse, where the Dinosaur BBQ restaurant is. I haven't been there yet because the one time there wasn't a ridiculous wait, I couldn't find the place. Anyways, I've heard amazing things about the sauce, so me and my dad decided to try it!
In the end, my chicken was quite delicious and I was very proud of my successful grilling!
loving these pictures. i wish i could be outside/downtown/wherever taking some of my own pictures, but unfortunately i'm all cooped up studying for chemistry- huge drag! oh well hopefully this weekend there will be nice weather and i can go on an exciting photo adventure.
Things I'm loving this summer: sunsets, even though i still have yet to go outside and actually see one. fringe. lacelacelace and more lace- can't get enough. long wavy hair (i'm trying to grow mine out and its taking forever). fringe. thunderstorms. being anywhere outside.
ps. how is the new layout? Good? Bad? I needed a change from the old one and am unfortunately not talented enough to find a cool new one elsewhere.
last night, i trekked downtown to rams head with my friend (and new concert buddy) dani to see my fave ragers, passion pit. the concert was ridiculously sick with crazy lights, people screaming/jumping and of course crazy good music. sorry for the shitty photos, i didnt try to be a reb and sneak my camera in. anyways, i was much more focused on ROCKING OUT to sleepyhead. all in all it was a pretty solid night.
what fun is being cool if you can't wear a sombrero
